Baccarat (also called Punto Banco) is played in a community environment, where everyone is focused on the outcome of one hand only. You need to get as close to nine as you can. A virtual dealer distributes the cards in the online game. You make two kinds of bets as the banker (Banco) or as a player (Punto).
As a player, you can bet on either Punto or Banco. As a dealer, you will bet only on Banco. The dealer gives you two hands and you then have to bet which one will win, or predict that they will tie. The Payoff is even money: Bet $1 and get $2 back, in addition to your original dollar. If you win as Banco (dealer) you get your money minus the 5% commission levied by the casino. This is because Banco wins more often than Punto.
Playing Steps
• Your hand will consist of 2-3 cards.
• The dealer holds two cards, face down and gives you two other cards.
• You look at your cards and then give them back to the dealer, who exposes both sets of cards. The dealer announces the winner.
• A hand of 8 or 9 (nine being the highest) is called a 'Natural' and dealing stops. For any other numbers, the casino may instruct the card dealer to deal a third card. Casinos have precise rules about when to deal a third card.
• The highest-scoring hand wins, with the casino paying out after collecting the losing bets. The player/dealer is not involved in payouts and plays against the casino like everyone else.
Rules
1) All cards above 9 (face cards and 10s) have no value.
2) Every card less than 10 is has its face value.
3) Aces have the value of 1.
4) Card suits don't count just the numbers. Any count that reaches a double digit drops the left digit (so 15 becomes 5 and 25 also becomes 5).
